Peanut Sauce

This recipe is based on a widely-used Thai sauce. When you taste it, you'll know why it's so popular. Of course it's good served with oriental food, such as Chicken in Lettuce Cups. I think you'll also use it as a dipping sauce for appetizers and chips.

This is a quick and easy sauce to make, and requires no cooking.

Peanut Sauce

    1/2 cup peanut butter
    4 tablespoons hot water
    2 teaspoons lime juice
    1/2 teaspoon chili powder
    1/2 teaspoon MSG
    1 teaspoon cayenne
    4 teaspoons bottled plum sauce
    1 teaspoon Sriracha rooster sauce
    1 green onion (optional)

Combine the hot water and peanut butter and stir with a fork until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients and stir until blended. Taste and adjust seasonings to your own taste. Garnish with chopped green onion, if desired.
